– In February, around 500 educators participated at the Early Childhood STEM Conference in Costa Mesa to discuss about the best ways to teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics to preschoolers. Learning through play was of course at the center of the discussion, but this was not the only topic.

– “We know children learn through play, and we are masters at social and emotional development, but we need to focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” said Susan Wood, executive director of the Children’s Center. “Early math education builds a foundation for high school.”
