– Due to their dislike of math, many preschool teachers think they are unable to teach math to kids. In order to heal this widespread math phobia, in Decatur (Georgia, USA), instructional coaches are visiting preschools to show how mathematics can be used daily and in funny ways with very young pupils.

– Teachers and educators are often very literacy-oriented and thereby hesitant to include numeracy in the program, building entire lessons around literacy. On the other hand, abundant research has demonstrated that success in school and professional careers is more than ever related to math competencies. For this reason, keeping preschoolers away from mathematics put them at high risk of later failure.
