According to a survey by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), England is the only developed country where grandparents beat young adults in basic numeracy and literacy. England’s 16- to 24-year-olds even got the poorest results in their age group.

The other bad news is that the situation is not really better in the information technology, a domain that is key to reshaping the workplace in the developed world.
