A recent study conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shows that American adults performed below average when compared among other developed countries in literacy, math, and problem solving.

Japan got the best results in all three areas assessed in the survey. But Finland, the Netherlands, and Canada also outperformed the U.S. as well.

In mathematics, the group of American people aged 55 to 65 was ranked about average, while the group of people aged 16 to 24 was ranked worse.
