In a recent article from BBC America, Ruth Margolis explains why Britons are better than Americans in parenting. She says, British parents “honed a fail-safe formula for moderately-sometimes-probably successful child-rearing.”

That’s an interesting comparison. These are the main points of the paper:

  1. British parents assume that medical professionals know their job.

  2. British parents let their children eat cake.

  3. British parents are proud when their children swear.

  4. British parents like to leave their kids alone.

All things that Americans parents would handle very differently, of course.
