The Jacobs Foundation, who was founded by the late Swiss businessman and philanthropist Klaus J. Jacobs, awards each year a prize honoring exceptional achievement in the field of child and youth development.

The Jacobs Foundation assigned it’s 2013 prize to Greg Duncan, a Professor of Education at the University of California, Irvine, for his groundbreaking work on the lasting effects of poverty on child development.

Professor Duncan is one of the most eminent specialists in early childhood development around the world. A well deserved award indeed!
