According to a study unveiled at the “Growing Up in Australia” annual conference in Melbourne, non-English speaking immigrant mothers devote three hours a week more to their children than Aussie mums. More time for eating, bathing, health care, and reading activities. But not only.

What is amazing is that this extra time is not given at the detriment of the emotional health of the children. On the contrary, immigrant kids get from their mothers better emotional support – like cuddles – than their native counterparts. This habit seem to be the same in UK, New Zealand, Canada or the United States. A proof that some tigers can be very nice.
