– According to a new study, reading to young children modifies their brain activity and will enhance their behavior and academic performance. Brain scans showed that, when kids are being told a story, some areas of the left hemisphere of their brain – the regions linked to the understanding of words, concepts and memory – are more active.

– Today, almost every parent knows that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends reading out loud to infants as soon as they’re born. Many previous researches have demonstrated that kids exposed to reading early will thrive better than their less stimulated peers. In particular, they will have a broader vocabulary, a higher literacy level, better attention and concentration skills, and last but not least, they will be better prepared for kindergarten.
