– We are on the verge of a paradigm shift in matters of children’s education. Scientific research is continuously bringing up more evidence that the human brain is shaped by both our genes and the interactions we have with our environment; and that the early years are really crucial for a child’s development. This critical time sets the pace for the future lives and careers of our kids, preparing them to imagine and build better societies.

– UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake and World Health Organization Director-General Dr Margaret Chan jointly stated: “The debate between nature and nurture as determinants of early child development is over. Today we understand that the two are inextricably linked.”
