– Babies are already able to absorb information during the last ten weeks of pregnancy. According to a recent study, when mothers talk to their fetus while touching their belly, infants in the womb display more reactions – like arm, head, and mouth movements – compared to when mothers only talk to their fetus or do nothing.

– Another research published earlier this year, revealed that babies’ language skills begin to develop during pregnancy when parents talk or read to them. “It’s never too early to start reading and talking to your baby,” said Dr. Rebekka Levis, an assistant professor at New York Medical College.

– “The main message for pregnant moms is that their babies are listening and learning and remembering during the last stages of pregnancy,” said Patricia K. Kuhl, Ph.D., author of a similar study published in 2013.
