– A recent research reveals that, while three-quarters of parents believe that reading to their kids every night is of prime importance, only one fifth of them find the time to do it, over-busy mothers being the first to see this task as a burden. Many parents consider bedtime storytelling as stressful, 71% of them considering it as one of the most stressful things they have to do.

– In the best interest of their kids, and even if this may be sometimes an inconvenience, parents should remember that, as child psychologist Tanya Byron says: “Reading is crucial for child development and a lack of reading can impair language growth, emergent literacy and social skill development.”
