– Many parents, being themselves not good at math, don’t expect their kids to be. A very detrimental attitude to the kids. While few people would recognize they are not good in literacy, a lot of them are not at all ashamed to concede that they don’t understand mathematics. This is one of the reasons why so many students are doing poorly in this field. A man in Canada has however shown that with the right teaching methods, everyone can be good and even excel at math.

– John Mighton, a famous Canadian mathematician, has been called “the nation’s math conscience” for demonstrating that any child can master math. Several years ago, he founded the Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigy (JUMP) charity. JUMP provides a training program for teachers, whose impressive results got strong attention around the world.
